Profile
Carolin J. Klüpfel, born in Bamberg in 1986, studied law in Munich, Leuven/Belgium and Göttingen. After research visits in Geneva, Brussels, Moscow and Washington, D.C., Mrs. Kluepfel did her legal traineeship (Referendariat) in Berlin (Kammergericht), among others at the Department on the Affairs of the European Union (Chancellery of the Senate Berlin) and the Lawyers’ Mediation Board at the German Federal Bar Association. Since 2015, she has been continuously working as a lawyer in law firms specialized on construction, architectural law and renewables.
Mrs Kluepfel is a Specialist Lawyer for Construction and Architectural Law and Mediator and Arbitrator for construction disputes.
She is particularly involved in international infrastructure projects in plant construction (onshore and offshore) and all legal aspects related to architects and engineers and procurement law. Her clients are general contractors, developers, public authorities, medium-sized companies and planners. In addition to the conceptualization of tender procedures, advice during the award process and representation in contract award review proceedings, her advice focuses in particular on new forms of contract processing for Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)/ multi-party contracts with a collaborative approach as well as methods from Lean Construction Management and Conflict Management.
In addition, Mrs. Klüpfel is Lecturer for construction law at the Hochschule Fresenius in Hamburg and engages as co-author of the Juris “PraxisReport Privates Baurecht”.
