Sonja Schulz was born in Bremen in 1976. She studied law in Münster and Leuven, Belgium. She completed her practical training in Münster, Washington D.C. and Brussels. In addition, she completed an education in Anglo-American law, a subject-specific foreign language training, postgraduate studies in European law and training in change management. In 2003 she received a Master of European and Comparative Law from the University of Ghent, Belgium.

Sonja Schulz has been a lawyer at ZENK since 2006 and a partner since 2012.

She has been listed by JUVE for years as one of the leading lawyers in food law. She advises international and medium-sized companies as well as start-ups on all questions of composition, labelling, advertising and marketing of food and other consumer goods. Ms Schulz represents companies in disputes with competitors, associations and authorities and supports them in crisis and recall management as well as in liability cases. She is particularly appreciated by her clients for her pragmatic and entrepreneurial advice.

In addition to her work as a lawyer, Sonja Schulz also works extensively as a speaker and author. She is, among other things, a member of the legal committee of Food Federation Germany (Lebensmittelverband Deutschland e. V.) the leading association of the German food sector and of the working group on food supplements. In addition, she is a lecturer at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg) in the course of studies in Business Administration Food Management.
